Join Davina aka Dawn Devine for a discussion of the origins and history of using veils in contemporary belly dance. During this 60-minute slide talk, Davina presents dozens of images of dancers from antiquity to the 21st century. The main focus of this talk is the pivotal moment in belly dance history when Euro-American theater culture produced several new hybrid dance styles including Vaudeville/Musical Theater, Art Dance, and our own Belly Dance. The slide presentation will be followed by a 30-minute Q & A session.

- Veils on Film: Audience Expectation and Live Experiences
This lecture is available for $30 live on October 6th 12 PM PDT/ 3PM EDT and streaming for 30 days.
